A tractor-trailer hauling grain was split in half when the driver of a semi-truck drove through a railroad crossing. The Brown County Sheriff's Office posted a video showing the moment a semi-truck and train collided on Friday in Minnesota. A video posted to the sheriff's office's Facebook page indicated that 24-year-old Robert Jewett was driving the semi-truck on US Highway 14 in Sleepy Eye. Jewett attempted to turn into a business at 24170 US Highway 14 when the semi-truck was struck by a Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad train. The shocking video showed the semi-tractor-trailer split into pieces as the train continued on its tracks. Remarkably, only minor injuries were reported. Sheriff's officials reported that the occupants were treated at the scene. The train occupants were identified as Jeffrey Alan Schafer and Thomas Herman Behsman. When deputies arrived to the scene, both the semi-tractor and train had damage, but the train trailer was totaled in the collision. The crash remains under investigation. Sheriff's officials noted that the emergency responders from the Sleepy Eye Ambulance, the Sleepy Eye Fire Department, the Minnesota State Patrol and deputies from their office responded to this call for service.
