Residents in St. Louis and surrounding areas should brace for a wet and possibly stormy week ahead. The National Weather Service in St. Louis has forecasted showers and thunderstorms through much of the upcoming days. For today, the chance of precipitation is set at a steady 80%, with a high temperature near 79 degrees and winds coming from the southeast at a gentle 5 to 8 mph, as per the NWS report.

Tonight shows no sign of conditions improving, with likely showers and thunderstorms anticipated before 10 pm, followed by scattered showers through the night. The humidity hanging at around 90% coupled with a low temperature approximately 70 degrees might make for a sticky situation, leading to potential flash floods, warned by the NWS . The evening winds are expected to calm after midnight, coming from the east at about 6 mph.

Moving into the weekend, Saturday's forecast isn't looking too bright either, with isolated showers in the morning and scattered showers and thunderstorms rolling in after 10 am. Despite the grim skies, the temperatures will push higher, with a peak nearing 84 degrees. The NWS warns that "Locally heavy rainfall could result in an isolated instance of flash flooding."

With the dawn of a new week, those hoping for respite from the rain might catch a break. By Monday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms drops slightly to 40%, and partly sunny conditions are expected with highs flirting with 88 degrees. On Juneteenth, shower and thunderstorm chances wane to 20%, providing a bit of optimism that folks may enjoy mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures near 89 degrees, according to the NWS reports.

The Hazardous Weather Outlook provided by NWS urges the public to stay vigilant as thunderstorms are a possibility from Saturday through Thursday across the region. While spotter activation is "not expected at this time," caution is advised due to the unpredictable nature of storm patterns and their inherent risks.
