The
St. Louis Cardinals (30-24) face the
Baltimore Orioles (19-34) in the second game of a 3-game set Tuesday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is set for 6:35 p.m. ET. Let's analyze

MLB picks and predictions for the best bets. The Cardinals hung around in a 5-2 loss Monday despite RHP
Erick Fedde leaving everything hanging in the strike zone. Fedde allowed 5 runs (3 ER) on 7 H over 5 IP, and the bats just couldn't keep up. OF
Lars Nootbaar struck out 3 times at the top of the order, and the team struck out 10 times overall. It was a bad day for a team that was 16-4 in the last 20 entering Monday. The O's finally got a good start from RHP
Charlie Morton , who threw a season-high 6 IP, allowing 2 ER with 5 K's. OF
Dylan Carlson also burned his former team with 2 hits, including a 3-run homer and a steal. The Orioles have won 3 straight and seem to be figuring it out finally.
Cardinals at Orioles projected starters
Pallante (4-3, 4.18 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.34 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 5.6 K/9 in 56 innings. Sugano (4-3, 3.07 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.02 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 4.9 K/9 in 58 2/3 innings.

Cardinals at Orioles picks and predictions
Prediction
I like the home side here. Sugano is a junkball-thrower that mixes in a 92-mph heater to keep hitters off his sweeper and splitfinger. Opponents hit the fastball for a .270 clip, but his sweeper (.182) and splitfinger (.179) really do the work. Granted, they have been better of late, but the Cards are a bad road team. You need pop to win consistently on the road, and they're tied for 21st with 49 homers as a team. Pallante hasn't been great either with a 4.99 ERA in his last 7 starts, and he just doesn't miss enough bats to keep this powerful team at bay. Give me the
ORIOLES (-102) .
I'll skip the RL and take
GUNNAR HENDERSON OVER 1.5 H+R+RBI (-135) . He has cashed this in 2 straight games, and he homered in his only career AB against Pallante.
The Cards are 4-5-1 O/U in their last 10, and the O's are 6-4. The Under cashed Monday and is 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings between the clubs. The wind is blowing out to left-center at 10 mph. Because of that -- and the pitch-to-contact pitchers going Tuesday -- I like the
