The song remains the same for St. Louis City SC.

Another frustrating loss.

Another missed chance at picking up some valuable points.

City SC had its share of chances but came up short in a 2-1 loss to San Diego FC on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd at Energizer Park.

St. Louis has gone winless in its last eight matches with an 0-6-2 mark. Its last triumph was a 1-0 victory over Seattle on March 15.

That's almost two months of futility.

City SC (2-5-5) has managed just nine goals in 12 matches.

San Diego (5-4-2), which scored twice in the final 11 minutes, has won two in a row after snapping a three-match losing skid.

St. Louis defender Kyle Hiebert tallied in stoppage time to cut a two-goal deficit in half. But the hosts could not get the equalizer.

City SC was without midfielder Eduard Lowen, who missed the contest due to personal reasons.
