On Wednesday afternoon, six ladies from Stargate School in Thornton put pen to paper to play at the next level, and the athletes are headed for major college programs. The sports ranged from sailing to track and field, and the participating Eagles are now graduating to colleges all over the country; in one case going overseas for her next chapter. Here is a list of the six signees.
Mollie Skibinski
This soccer star is taking her talents across the pond to the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, England. She plans to study sports and exercise science. Skibinski will play for the
Gloucester City Football Club , a semi-professional team in the area. “I get the opportunity to experience life in a different country while studying at a university with world-class exercise science facilities and gaining many connections through playing my sport with a semi-professional team,” Skibinski said.
Tamsin Horne
Horne, a standout in the sport of sailing, signed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge. Horne plans to study physics and chemistry at the next level. “I chose MIT as it is a strong stem school where I will be able to pursue my passions for both chemistry and physics,” Horne said.
Tegan Medina
Staying home was a priority for this softball star. Medina will be attending Colorado Mesa University in the fall. She plans to study psychology. “Colorado Mesa had everything I was looking for with school and athletics,” Medina said. “It was close to home so my friends and family can still be a part of my softball journey.”
Addison Constantinides
Constantinides will be attending Davidson College in North Carolina to continue her swimming career. She also plans to study political science. “For me, Davidson College isn’t just a place to excel academically; it’s a community where I can thrive both in the classroom and in the pool,” Constantinides said. “The chance to push my academic boundaries while representing Davidson in the competitive realm of Division I swimming is unique.”
Sydney Pippert
The first of the Pippert sisters is taking her talents to Minnesota State University, Mankato, to continue her swimming career. She’s the one leaving home. She plans to study business and looks forward to the culture of her new home campus. “Minnesota State was the best school choice for me because it provides the balance of academics, athletics and culture I was looking for,” Sydney Pippert said. “It is a place I truly believe I can grow as an athlete while also getting a degree that will set me up for my future.”
Allison Pippert
The other Pippert sister will stay close to home to continue her track and field career at Colorado State in Fort Collins. “I chose CSU because I loved the campus, team and coaches,” Allison Pippert said. “They also have a good exercise science program and I’m looking forward to hands-on learning. I am also excited to stay near the mountains.” She’ll study health and exercise science as a Ram. Congratulations to all the local athletes for excelling in school and their sports.
