PHOENIX (AZFamily) — You can expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the 80s this Friday as we head into a warm weekend! High pressure is coming in large and in charge and will lead to highs in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the 90s starting on Monday. Phoenix could break some daily high records next week on Monday and Tuesday. The daily records for those days are 94 and 96 degrees, set in 1990 and 2022 respectively. There are no 100-degree days in the forecast, but with highs expected to be in the upper 90s it sometimes only takes a few breezy minutes from the southwest to influence the official gauge at Sky Harbor Airport. The earliest 100-degree day on record is March 26, 1988. Overnight low records could be in jeopardy Wednesday morning with a thick cloud cover keeping lows in the 70s, well above the average for this time of the year. With clouds and cooler air coming in, look for highs in the mid-90s for next Wednesday and Thursday. Highs should drop into the normal range by the end of the week.
