A prominent dancer on Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl halftime show grew up in Aurora, even graduating from Smoky Hill High School.
If you watched the Super Bowl halftime show last Sunday, then you probably saw Colorado's own Dana Wilson, an accomplished backup dancer who will also be appearing on Justin Timberlake's world tour. Wilson actually got quite a bit of the spotlight, compared to most of the dancers, appearing front and center with Timberlake himself. In an interview with 9News's Next with Kyle Clark, Wilson talked about the experience. "Dancing in the Super Bowl halftime show, first of all -- massive moment," she said. "Thirty seconds can seem to stretch out into what feels like hours and at the same time, 13 minutes of a halftime show goes by so quickly."
An Aurora native and Smoky Hill High School alum, Wilson has made quite a career for herself since she first began taking dance lessons in Englewood at the age of 3. She appeared in the opening dance scene of 2017's hit film "La La Land," and has worked on the Academy Awards show, "Big Bang Theory," "Dancing with the Stars," and multiple high-profile commercials. She's also appeared with Justin Bieber, Hozier, U2, Britney Spears, and The Backstreet Boys.
