2021 is already looking up for potato lovers.

Good news for vegetarians and potato lovers: Taco Bell has announced the return of potatoes! The beloved fast-food chain took to Twitter on Thursday morning to reveal the exciting news.

Specifically, menu items Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco will be available to Taco Bell customers on March 11. There was no mention of the Cheesy Potato Grillers, to our knowledge.

When Taco Bell removed potatoes from the menu back in August, the company didn't anticipate the backlash it would receive. (We at OCN even wrote our own sad farewell, bemoaning the menu change.)

"I feel like I've almost heard from everybody in the country on the potato bites," Liz Matthews, Taco Bell's global chief food innovation officer, said. "This was the one that really hit home for people."

The chain cited their 100-percent switch to drive-thru service and resulting long lines as the reason behind the need for a simplified menu. But they were wrong about potatoes, and they see that now. After all, vegetarians already have few fast-food options available to them.

Speaking of that, Taco Bell is working with Beyond Meat to develop a new vegetarian-friendly menu item next year. More potato menu options are in the works as well.

What do you think? Are you a potato lover? I don't know about you, but I think we need to raise some ruckus about the Mexican Pizza! Maybe they'll bring that back, too!
