A drive-through light show on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk opened for the holidays on November 13.
A Hampton Roads holiday tradition continues this year with the Bayport Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach. After purchasing tickets in advance, guests will drive their vehicle down the Virginia Beach Boardwalk past light displays with holiday, nautical, and adventure themes.
“Here at BayPort, we know that 2020 has been a challenging year for many in our community. Now more than ever, we believe in the value of safe, fun, and family-friendly experiences this holiday season. That is why we are excited to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Holiday Lights at the Beach for the third straight year,” said President and CEO Jim Mears.

This year's theme is "Fanta-sea." In a sort of reverse-parade, guests can tune into a holiday soundtrack by radio and enjoy "festive fish, musical crabs, and hard-working elves—all in brightly colored lights against the moonlit Atlantic Ocean." There are light tunnels and archways with fish swimming overhead, and this year features the new additions of a Surfing Santa and a 40-foot tall dancing light Christmas tree.
"Military tributes to the region's strong Armed Forces community are featured prominently throughout the display," reads the event website.

How to Attend
The attraction is already open and will remain open until January 3, 2021. Guests will be required to purchase tickets online in advance. Guests must stay inside their vehicles and tickets will be scanned on mobile devices, to limit person-to-person contact. Tickets are on sale now and cost $17 per vehicle.
