Topekans need only be 55 years old to begin receiving 10% senior citizen discounts at Topeka locations for Applebees, Burger King and Chili’s. Other restaurant chains with sites here make customers wait to enjoy those savings until they're 60 or 65. The Capital-Journal sought this past week to learn more about senior discounts offered by chains that maintain restaurants in Topeka. "Remember that there is no legal requirement to offer discounts to seniors, so it pays to ask before you buy," the website
seniorliving.org said earlier this year.
