Seriously, people don’t seem to expect when moving to Colorado that our rent rates are through the roof. It’s basic supply and demand. Lots of demand+limited supply=expensive. The current median rent is $1,700
So is owning a home
The median cost of a home in Colorado currently is around $369,000, and it’s only projected to go up in the foreseeable future. Homes definitely aren’t a small investment right now!
We do actually see the sun!
Despite what you may believe, it doesn’t actually snow 365 days a year here. Many people don’t expect when moving to Colorado that they’ll get around 250 days of sun a year.
We take our beer really seriously
We’re home to 4 of the top-50 brewing companies in the nation. We’re ranked 3rd in the nation in the number of craft breweries we have. If you don’t like beer, we’ll change that for you - with all these different breweries, there’s sure to be one you’ll like.
Rocky Mountain oysters aren’t imported
When moving to Colorado, expect a local to invite you out for or suggest you try Rocky Mountain Oysters. All I’m going to say about them is that they aren’t from the sea, and we don’t import them.
We love being outside
I mean, look at those mountains. Look at our fields, our rivers, our lakes, our charming tiny mountain towns. Why wouldn’t you want to be outside exploring this gorgeous state every chance you get??
We don’t all smoke pot
People seem to assume when moving to Colorado that everyone they engage with smokes weed recreationally and regularly. While we’re a lot less likely to judge you for partaking, not all of us do!
We have a lot more than mountains to offer!
Drive south past Pueblo and you’ll find a desert-like area full of sand dunes. Head away from the Rockies and you’ll find yourself on rolling golden plains that seem to stretch into eternity. Even our cities are amazing. When moving to Colorado, don’t limit your ideas of us to the mountains. We’re so much more than that!
