The Nevitt family took the meaning of backyard playhouse to a whole other level.

The Harry Potter gospel lives on in the Nevitt family.

When their daughter turned 6, this family of Potter-lovers went all out with their Harry-themed birthday party and ACTUALLY BUILT Diagon Alley in their backyard. (Remember my recent plea for Annapolis to repeat its one-night Diagon Alley transformation? As you can imagine, I'm pretty stoked about this!).

Complete with Olivanders, Flourish & Blotts, Madam Malkin's, and Mr. Mulpepper's Apothecary, you can now get all your Hogwarts supplies in Gambrills, Maryland. After working on Diagon Alley for four weeks, the Nevitt family allowed visitors to book photo sessions at their backyard attraction, in exchange for a donation that went toward Hurricane Florence relief. Approximately $1,450 was raised as a result.

Thank you, Nevitts, for your resourceful creativity (the supplies they used to build Diagon Alley were free, recycled, and donated to them) that brings us all secondhand joy and magic while helping others. Fifty points to Gryffindor!

What do you think of this Diagon Alley design? Fun? Admirable? A little over the top? Let me know in the comments below!
