January 30 is the last day in a three-day Amtrak sale, which offers 30 percent off select East Coast train travel between February 16 and May 31.

If you're looking to take a trip to New York this spring—or any other destination in the Northeast—today is the last day of a huge Amtrak sale where you can book train tickets for 30 percent off. Travel must be completed between February 16 and May 31.

Some one-way fares are as low as $15 (like Boston, MA, to Durham, NH), while a trip from Charlottesville, VA, to New York City would run you just $71. Even the Acela fares are discounted; for instance, you could buzz up to New York City from D.C. in two-and-a-half hours for just $128 one-way.
