Travis Hunter impressed the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, leading the team to trade up to the No. 2 overall selection to select him. Evidently, Hunter made a similarly strong impression on his seat partner on a recent cross-country flight. Sandy Hawkins Combs took to Facebook to share a heartwarming story about sitting next to Hunter, to whom she referred as "the nicest young man." "I had the most wonderful flight home from Denver," Combs wrote. "I met the nicest young man who sat next to me. He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray. He was always polite, saying 'yes ma'am' or 'no ma’am.' Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson – so polite." Combs went on to explain she did not initially know who Hunter was. She asked after he continued to receive congratulations from those aboard the flight and took a handful of pictures. Hunter then revealed his identity to Combs and snapped a selfie with her, which was attached to Combs' post. "He's so humble and down-to-earth," Combs wrote. "I would never have guessed he was a professional athlete." Hunter's interaction with Combs has made her a lifelong fan, and she plans to root for the No. 2 pick as his career in Jacksonville begins. "I already told my sons I want his jersey," she wrote before adding, "I will be buying tickets."
