PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Winds will drop off this evening around the Greer Fire , but they will increase again late Monday morning into Monday evening with west winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. Winds will then relax quite a bit on Tuesday and Wednesday, which should hopefully help out the firefighting effort. A disturbance may approach late in the week or next weekend, potentially bringing in another round of gusty winds. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. for southeastern Arizona and the eastern Little Colorado River Valley. On Monday, it will also be in effect for central and southeastern Arizona, including Winslow, Globe, Safford, and eastern Maricopa County. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening and then again from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m for parts of eastern Arizona including Greer, Show Low, and Springerville. After a breezy day in the Valley, temperatures will drop into the mid-60s as the winds calm down overnight. Monday will be warmer, with highs in the mid-90s. Winds will increase again on Monday afternoon, with gusts of 25 mph at times from the west. A ridge of high pressure will build mid-week, sending high temperatures into the upper 90s by Tuesday and into the triple digits from Wednesday into Friday. Highs near 105 are possible by the end of the week, which will bring in a moderate heat risk. It is possible temperatures may cool off a bit Saturday into Sunday, hovering just above 100, but that is still above normal. For the high country, showers and a few possible thunderstorms will continue tonight into Monday in northeastern Arizona, primarily along and north of I-40. Temperatures will then start to warm to above-average numbers by mid-week. See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? Please click here to report it .
