We have reached the month of April and the NFL Draft in Green Bay is less than three weeks away. The bulk of free agency is completed, and rosters now look a little different around the league than they did a few weeks ago. That could affect how some teams approach the draft.

Lions general manager Brad Holmes is always looking to add depth and talent in both trenches. They could use some depth at safety too, and head coach Dan Campbell said at last week's Annual League Meetings they'd also like to add some youth to the wide receiver room. But overall, it's always about best available player.

Here's my third prediction with Mock Draft 3.0 coming out of free agency. Feel free to disagree.

Tennessee is hosting edge rusher Abdul Carter, quarterback Cam Ward, wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders post-Combine as they narrow down their potential choice.

Pick: QB Cam Ward, Miami. I had Carter here in my first two mocks, and I still he think he's the best player in the class, but the most important position in football has to be addressed in Tennessee and they sent everyone to watch Ward's impressive pro day.

The Browns are in a terrific spot to give Myles Garrett a complement on the other side by getting the best pure pass rusher in the class. That could be a formidable duo on the edge of Cleveland's defense for a long time.

Pick: Edge Abdul Carter, Penn State. Get the best pure pass rusher in the draft. Carter had 12.0 sacks and 24 tackles for loss this past season and would boost an already strong Browns pass rush.

It's time the Giants find their quarterback of the future. They signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency but those are short-term solutions. New York threw just 15 touchdown passes in 2024, the lowest in the NFL, and only two more than their 13 interceptions.
