Experience the magic of fall with our ultimate Colorado Fall Road trip

The mornings are getting cooler and the leaves are changing. While experiencing fall foliage in Colorado is a sight to behold, the window closes quickly, especially up in the mountains. Grab your scarves, hot cocoas and pumpkin-spice-whatever and take the weekend to explore all the glory fall in Colorado has to offer.

City Park - Denver [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1493,1495,1523" orderby="rand"] City Park is a great starting point to your road trip, especially if you live in/near Denver. This chill spot has tons of beautiful trees you can watch change, lakes and all the normal park stuff you can enjoy. Plus there are a ton of great fall festivals happening here in the upcoming weeks.   Genesee Trail - Golden [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1496,1497,1498"] Genesee Trail is a perfect hiking spot with beautiful views. Immerse yourself into the woods and be one with the fall foliage on this stop on our Colorado fall road trip.   St. Elmo - Near Buena Vista [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1526,1499,1501"] What’s more "fall" than seeing fall colors in a ghost town? Nothing. St. Elmo is a quaint abandoned ghost town right outside of Buena Vista. Get views of the collegiate peaks while you take in the fall foliage.   Independence Pass - Aspen [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1505,1504,1502"] THE COLORS! DO YOU SEE ALL THOSE COLORS? Independence Pass in Aspen is the quintessential place to see fall colors in Colorado. When the aspens turn their classic fall golden/yellow the area is transformed, leaving us in awe.   McClure Pass - Glenwood Springs [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1506,1507,1508,1509"] Yes, these colors are real. So so SO real. One of the "must" stops on this Colorado fall road trip; McClure Pass is a beautiful drive. If you're geared up you can get on top of it all and see the beautiful colors from above. You can also see the unique golden ferns (pictured last) making you feel like you're wading through a golden river.   Lynx Pass - Steamboat [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="1510,1513,1511,1512"] The last stop on our ultimate Colorado fall road trip is Lynx pass near Steamboat. Honestly there are a lot of spots around Steamboat that would make for some great fall-foliage sightings. Lynx is a long pass that lets you take in and savor all the beautiful colors.
