According to data collected from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2016, Colorado residents 15 and older play the most video games and board games in the nation.

Apparently Coloradans spend more time playing games than any other state in the country -- both video games and board games. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing ... perhaps both? Either way, color us impressed, especially considering how health conscious Coloradans are. I mean, even our pets are healthy! Data was collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and found that, on average, 13.4 percent of Colorado residents -- 15 and older -- play games on a typical day. Minnesota came in second at 13.2 percent, followed by Kansas (11.6), New Hampshire (11.6), and Rhode Island (11.2). [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="19200,19201"] Based on numbers from the American Time Use Survey, the average American spends more time playing games than he/she does volunteering, going to church, or participating in other social events -- an average of 15 minutes. However, if you exclude those who played no video games at all from the average, a typical gamer would have spent more than two hours per day playing games. I know I've been guilty of this on occasion, and let me tell you, it was way more than two hours a day!
There are some other hiccups within the survey. The American Time Use Survey neglects to distinguish the types of board games and video games being played. For example, there's no way to determine whether gamers were playing board games like Scrabble or Monopoly, and video games like Halo or Gears of War. Because of this, it's not possible to determine just how much of the survey results were due to video games alone. video games In 2015, video games were a $23.5 billion industry, while board and card games were a $1.2 billion industry. Based on those figures, it's suggested that video games played a huge role in the majority of time spent "playing games" in the survey. What are your thoughts on where Colorado ranks?
