What Makes Chrysler Special?

  1. Chrysler is recognized as the creator of the minivan. This new body type of vehicle was born out of a need for cars with better fuel economy. Funnily enough, as things have evolved overtime, minivans are not considered to have the best fuel economy.
  2. The brand was early to the EV game. In today's world, fuel economy is a concern once again. Chrysler took action early on, debuting the Dodge EPIC minivan in 1992. The following year, a limited number of Chrysler TEVans were also made available for purchase.
  3. They also made one of the first muscle cars. The 1955 Chrysler C-300, often hailed as one of the first muscle cars, boasted a groundbreaking 300-horsepower Hemi V8 engine and dominated NASCAR in its debut year.
  4. Chrysler has a space division. The space division was created in the 1960's, and the brand was considered a key early players in the industry. Chrysler even proposed an innovative vehicle design capable of transporting both passengers and cargo in space.
  5. Luxury meets affordability. Although it's not technically considered a "luxury brand", Chrysler is a great option for those with luxury taste who don't want to empty their wallets. In fact, Walter Chrysler created the company and set the standard to create luxurious vehicles that were also cost-effective. You love to see it!
  6. Chrysler, Jeep Dodge, and Ram are all connected. You may already know this, but do you know the full breakdown? Chrysler bought American Motors Corporation (AMC) in 1987 mainly to get Jeep, which became a huge success. After a few mergers and shakeups, Chrysler is now part of Stellantis—a global company that also owns Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, among others.
  7. Chrysler was the first automaker to offer built-in child safety seats. These debuted in Chrysler's minivans back in 1992. Ultimately, they were phased out in 2010, in favor of better options.
  8. Chrysler created Mopar in 1937. The name combines "MOtor" and "PARts." It was designed to provide high-quality parts and service for Chrysler vehicles. Now, it's the brand behind the performance and care of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles under Stellantis.
  9. Chrysler want to employ dogs. No, dogs aren't building your cars. (Wouldn't that be something?) The automaker partnered with BraunAbility and Canine Companions for Independence in 2018 to create "Give a Dog a Job". This program offers more assistance dogs to those with disabilities.
  10. Chrysler played a part in WWII. Like other automakers, Chrysler contributed to the war efforts during. The brand's specific contributions included manufacturing defense hardware such as B-29 bomber engines and anti-aircraft guns. Chrysler even earned an Army-Navy award for these efforts.
