Denver is the XC40's natural habitat.
From Netflix to Blue Apron to Dollar Shave Club, subscriptions are making a comeback across the board. It was only a matter of time until it hit the auto industry, and to be honest, it actually makes a lot of sense. Car companies trying to attract younger buyers need to package the automobile acquisition process in a familiar yet hip way. They also know that purchasing or leasing and owning a vehicle still requires the owner to be responsible for things like maintenance, insurance, and wear-and-tear, and all that can be a hassle. Sounds great, right? Well, to a car enthusiast, no -- we want to own our cars, create emotional attachments, spend hours buffing and polishing them to perfection, and drive them for as long as we choose. But to a regular sensible person, I totally see the appeal. Now Volvo is in on the game, and unlike other automotive subscriptions, it's actually coming to Colorado.
For $600 per month (plus taxes of course) you can take a big deep breath of new car smell and drive the all-new Volvo XC40 -- a car that's absolutely perfect for Colorado. Insurance is worked into the cost, and maintenance is all taken care of. And no need to worry about wear-and-tear items like tires and wiper blades either because that's covered, too.

As for the actual XC40, it's entering the already competitive crossover game, but it quickly appears to be a rising star. "Tough little robot" is how Volvo describes the XC40's styling, but the XC40 is anything but robotic; instead, it's nimble, it's precise, and not a completely numb in the way it drives. Then there's the engine -- the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and that's plenty to make easy work of I-70. Of course, you'll be able to get all-wheel-drive, and its distinctly Swedish interior shares styling cues with its larger more expensive XC60 and XC90 siblings.

Still not enough Volvo for you? You also have the option to upgrade to the R-design model, and that means you get a surround view camera, premium audio, 20-inch wheels, and a '70s-esque orange carpet, but it's going to cost you an extra $100 per month.
Of course, there's always a catch, and in this case, all that means is that you have to have good credit and a decent driving history to qualify.
