Water World reopens for 2021, along with two new attractions!

Water World announced it will open for the 2021 season on May 29 after remaining closed during the 2020 season due to COVID-19. Park attendance will be reduced and managed through pre-visit ticketing and reservations.

Park attendees will have the opportunity to check out two new attractions at Water World this season: a two-lane racing water coaster called Roaring Forks and a two-person tube bowl with a design based on the Colorado state flag called Centennial Basin.

The park said it is following guidelines from the county and local health officials as it prepares to re-open, including enhanced cleaning measures. Here's what you need to know before you head out for some fun in the sun:

Health Measures

• Guests are not permitted to wear masks while in the water or riding attractions. Those who wish to wear a mask while moving between attractions should consider bringing a Ziploc bag to store it in. The park will also sell wearable waterproof mask holders.
• Guests age 10 and up are required to wear a mask during park arrival and exit; when indoors, including in restrooms, stores, or restaurants; and any time social distancing of more than 6 feet is not possible.
• Guests will be encouraged to maintain at least 6 feet of social distancing between parties that did not arrive together. The park is adding social distancing markers and one-way corridors to help guests maintain a safe distance from other visitors.
• Guests are asked not to visit if they have symptoms of COVID-19 and will be asked health screening questions before entering the park.

Park Operations

• Single rider lines and the introduction of single riders to other groups on attractions will not be allowed.
• Attractions queuing will be socially distanced and capacity on some attractions may be reduced.
• Delays may occur to allow for enhanced cleaning of some attractions.
• Touchless payment and mobile ordering options will be available at food service areas throughout the park.

Tickets

• Tickets go on sale on April 14.
• Any ticket with an expiration date in 2020 has been extended to 2021.
• Splash Pass quantities will be reduced and may sell out. Reservations are not required for Splash Pass holders, but there is a daily capacity for Splash Pass admissions. A limited number of Splash Pass pre-reservations will be available each day. Splash Pass ticket holders will use a separate entrance from general admission guests.
• General admission guests must purchase tickets and select a visit date and arrival time in advance online. A very limited number of walk-up tickets will be available to purchase each day.

During Your Visit

• Guests may continue to bring food and beverages into the park. Glass bottles and alcohol are not allowed. Cooler size will be limited to 30 quarts.
• Cabanas and Birthday Shaka Shacks will have temporary capacity changes. Adjoining cabanas will not be available in most locations.
