Our next cold front arriving on Saturday will bring gusty winds and colder temperatures back to Kansas this weekend. Highs in the lower to middle 40s on Saturday will be followed by middle to upper 30s on Sunday. Two rounds of snowfall are likely early next week. This has prompted a Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day from 11 PM Monday to 8 PM Wednesday. While the exact impact remains uncertain, several inches of snow are expected, especially along and north of highway 400. The first round will impact the state Monday night into early Tuesday morning. This will be a fast moving system with light snow potential. The second system will move in on its heels Tuesday night into Wednesday evening and has the potential to produce moderate snowfall and higher travel impacts. In addition to the risk of accumulating snow, much colder air, possibly Arctic in nature will be with us all next week. Highs in the 20s and 30s will be accompanied by overnight temperatures in the single digits and teens, and below zero wind chills. Tonight: Cloudy with areas of fog and drizzle. Wind: E/N 5-10. Low: 35. Tomorrow: Decreasing clouds and windy. Wind: N 20-30; gusty. High: 45. Tomorrow Night: Increasing clouds. Wind: N/NE 10-20. Low: 23. Sun: Low: 23. High: 39. Mostly cloudy.
