WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Wichita County Judge Jim Johnson has extended the burn ban from Wednesday, March 12 to Wednesday, April 30 .

“Due to the continued dry conditions and elevated fire risk, this burn ban remains necessary to help prevent wildfires. We are hopeful for much-needed precipitation soon, but until conditions change, we must continue taking precautions to reduce fire hazards and protect personal property and our community at large.” Johnson said.
