WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - According to the U.S. Drought Monitor and the City of Wichita Falls, the Wichita Falls area is no longer considered in a drought. The combined lake level totals of both Lake Kickapoo and Lake Arrowhead rose 13%, bringing the total to 88.2% The City of Wichita Falls said the Water Resources Board will be meeting soon to discuss the situation. The City Council is the only entity that can lift drought restrictions, meaning the Stage 1 Drought restrictions will remain in place until they are removed.
