The winter storm moving through Kansas has forced a number of facilities and school districts to cancel classes for Wednesday.

Wichita Public Schools are closed, and schools will have virtual parent-teacher conferences this afternoon and evening. Parents will receive specific instructions from their school later today regarding conferences.

All evening athletic activities and the bond issue informational open houses will continue as scheduled. There is no school on Thursday, Friday or Monday for conferences, inservice and Presidents Day holiday.

Wichita State University will be open with in-person classes in session and normal campus operations.

The KU School of Medicine campus will be open but students are being told to work remotely if possible.

The Sedgwick County Zoo will be closed to the public on Wednesday.

McConnell Air Force Base will go to a mission-essential only status for Wednesday, and the West Gate will be closed.

The Harvey County Courthouse and county facilities will open at 10 a.m.
