Soak in the Serenity of Colorado's Hot Springs!
Winter is gorgeous, especially in Colorado, but the cold weather can be challenging. We want to take it all in while also fighting the chill. We crave warmth and comfort, whether cozying up by the fire, sipping on a hot beverage, or dipping in the hot tub. Another great way to warm up here in Colorado is by visiting hot springs.
Today, we are going to take a look at some of the best hot springs in the state to help you warm up this winter, starting with:
Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Located in Steamboat Springs, an awesome ski destination, Strawberry Hot Springs is a lovely spot to visit this winter. The hot springs offer a natural experience with their waters, beautifully contained within stone-crafted pools. You can even rent lodging overnight to make a whole event around it! Whether you were skiing in the area or stopped by solely for these iconic springs, you won't regret visiting Strawberry Hot Springs (you might regret not going sooner). In addition to relaxing in the springs, you can also book massages and aquatic therapy. Sign me up!
Iron Mountain Hot Springs
I went here over the holidays last winter, and it was awesome! Iron Mountain Hot Springs has many different pools, making it a unique experience. The area is surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and the Colorado River. There are 16 geothermal pools in the legacy area, and then the WorldSprings pools. WorldSprings is a newer section that has pools that simulate different parts of the world, featuring mineral formulas inspired by springs from around the world.
The Springs Resort
If you're ready to "Explore, Restore, & Connect," head to The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs. This resort is luxury at its finest, earning it various accolades. People love these hot springs, and it's easy to see why from just a moment on their website. The 25 pools are fed by The Mother Spring, the World’s Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring. The Springs Resort also offers various packages and amenities, including massage treatments (which seems to be a theme with these hot springs, and I'm not mad about it). You get much more if you stay at the resort, like Aqua Yoga and Forest Bathing Hikes. Okay, I need to book a stay here ASAP!
Orvis Hot Springs
Head to Ridgeway, Colorado, to visit the Orvis Hot Springs. Something unique about these springs is that while they have lodging, they offer the option to camp there. So cool! There are various pools here, including "The Pond," an amazing pool with views of Mount Sneffels. Book a massage to relax even more!
Avalanche Ranch Cabins & Hot Springs
Check out Avalanche Ranch Cabins & Hot Springs in Redstone, Colorado. This spot has three tiered pools placed around the stunning natural landscape. Stay in one of the cozy cabins to make a whole trip out of it! Avalanche Ranch also offers yoga, massages, and other activities.
The Historic Wiesbaden Hot Springs Spa & Lodgings
Wind down in Ouray at The Historic Wiesbaden Hot Springs Spa & Lodgings. Like many of the others, spa services are available in addition to the springs themselves. There's also a Vapor Cave and a private soaking pool.
Durango Hot Springs
Finally, we have Durango Hot Springs. Unsurprisingly, at this point, spa services such as massages are also offered here. Beyond the minerals, Durango Hot Springs infuses the water with nano-meter and micro-meter oxygen bubbles, which amp up the health benefits and water purity. There are 32 hot spring mineral pools, two cold plunges, and a resort-style swimming pool. That's not all. Durango Hot Springs has five private Japanese-inspired soaking tubs.
Exploring Colorado's hot springs in the winter is a delightful way to embrace the season's chill while basking in warmth and relaxation. Colorado's hot springs provide a sanctuary for rejuvenation amid breathtaking mountain landscapes.
