MESA, Ariz. ( KPHO /Gray News) – A woman in Arizona was arrested after driving the wrong way on a highway for nearly 20 miles, troopers said.

Shockingly, no one was seriously injured.

Officials said the incident started on the U.S. 60 near Signal Butte Road just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when the wrong-way driver was reported to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The driver was reportedly going westbound in the eastbound lanes.

Troopers pursued the vehicle on the U.S. 60 and spiked the tires, but the driver kept going. One trooper even rammed the vehicle to keep it from colliding head-on with other oncoming vehicles.

The driver finally stopped around Rural Road, which is nearly 20 miles away from Signal Butte Road where it all started.

In total, the woman was reportedly driving the wrong way for approximately 30 minutes.

The driver was identified as a 28-year-old woman, but her name has not been released.

Troopers say the woman was arrested and booked on charges including DUI.
