Now that we've passed Halloween, we can now focus our attention on everything "holiday." But even though we’re getting closer to winter, there's still plenty of fall left in the DMV, and plenty of outdoor activities.

Maryland
Ethnic Food Festival and Bazaar | St. Mark Orthodox Church | Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Come out to the St. Mark Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Maryland, to enjoy tons of home-cooked food, featuring Russian and other Eastern European specialties. You can get everything from savory to sweet treats, and drinks as well. Handcrafted goods will also be sold, and there will be live entertainment. Smithsonian Food History Weekend | National Museum of American History | Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Shout-out to the National Museum of American History for making a weekend-long event about food! Yes, you read it correctly — there’s a weekend-long event dedicated to exploring the history of food (something we all love). Though there won't be actual food available for tastings at the roundtables or festival itself, there will be lots and lots of discussion and learning about how people have shaped regional American food cultures. Beetlejuice | The National Theatre | Friday, Saturday, Sunday
There are still a couple more weekends left to go see this award-winning musical at The National Theatre! Go this weekend and experience this strangely wonderful show, based on Tim Burton’s movie. It is a great opportunity to catch it in D.C., because after November 18, it’ll be headed to New York City to make its Broadway debut. Anastasia | Kennedy Center | Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Experience the hypnotic music and timeless story of Anastasia, a girl trying her hardest to unravel her memories. This classic tale is sure to enchant your entire family, especially if your kids loved the Disney version. The amazing new score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens is the perfect counterpoint to playwright Terrence McNally’s storyline. The show is directed by Tony Award winner Darko Tresnjak. Adams Morgan Apple Festival and Pie Contest | Adams Morgan | Saturday
Well, if this isn’t the most fall event that ever was! It was actually scheduled for last weekend, but due to stormy weather conditions was moved to this Saturday. This is great news for you if you wouldn’t have been able to make it otherwise. If you love apple-picking and you love pies (and really why wouldn’t you love both?!), then this is a can’t-miss day for you. You’ll be able to wear your coziest flannel and wander around the festival tasting all sorts of delicious apples. There will, of course, be other snacks, drinks, and live entertainment. DC Beer Fest | Nationals Park | Saturday
You can still drink beer at the DC Beer Fest this Saturday! This is one of the biggest beer festivals in the city, with plenty of seasonal options to choose from. Virginia
Virginia Thanksgiving Festival | Charles City | Sunday
If you’re up for a scenic drive and some good old-fashioned outdoor fun with the whole family, head to the Virginia Thanksgiving Festival in Charles City this Sunday.
