View dazzling safari-themed light displays from your car or on foot!

Bundle up and step into the light: "Zoo Lights" is back at the Maryland Zoo for another year of festive holiday cheer. Now, visitors can gaze at incredible light installations inspired by the zoo's animal inhabitants, all while supporting the zoo's conservation mission. With 100K LED lights powering the displays, it's a sight many won't forget!

Like last year, there will be two ways to enjoy the event: by driving or walking. Patrons can view the lights from the comfort of their vehicles or soak in the sights on foot, complete with access to cold-weather snacks, drinks, and free carousel rides for the little ones. Nothing beats sipping hot chocolate against the glow of holiday lights!

But before you go, the zoo has some guidelines to know ahead of time. Attendees must wear masks in indoor spaces on the zoo's grounds. For drivers, guests are required to stay in their vehicles and to maintain a speed of 5 miles-per-hour maximum. Also, be sure to keep the noise at a minimum—yelling or honking your horn could frighten the animals!

Zoo Lights runs through January 2, 2022. Tickets for the Drive-Thru (Wednesday to Thursday) are $33 per car. Walk-Thrus are $28 per person and scheduled for Friday to Sunday. If you're a Maryland Zoo member, you can even score $5 off each purchased ticket. Not a member? You can sign up here.
