There are a ton of new amazing movies on the docket for 2018! Get a jump on the plot by reading the books before the films release!

If you're a movie snob and an avid reader, you typically take the route of reading the book before a movie release ... and then judging it to no end. Well, for those of you who would like to indulge in the superiority of reading before seeing, here's a list of 10 books to read before the film comes out. A Wrinkle in Time -- Madeleine L'Engle

Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin embark on a crazy adventure to save Meg and Charles' scientist father. Along the way the kids meet some pretty interesting characters. I'm personally excited for this film -- it's already looking to be an amazing adventure and visually astounding.
Annihilation -- Jeff Vandermeer

This dangerous and secretive expedition leads to chaos -- and just overall edge-of-your-seat thrills.
Where'd You Go, Bernadette -- Maria Semple
Movie Release Date: May 11 15-year-old Bee attempts to find her anxiety-ridden mother who mysteriously disappears. The novel is a touching and binge-worthy read about a misplaced genius and the role of a mother-daughter relationship in a crazy world. The movie itself has an all-star cast of amazing actresses like Cate Blanchett, Kristen Wiig, and Judy Greer. Definitely worth a read and a watch!

Ophelia -- Lisa M. Klein
Movie Release Date: 2018 If you're familiar with the story of Hamlet you'll be enamored with the story of Ophelia. Starring in her own story, this adaptation delves into the life and mind of young Ophelia, her upbringing and her torrid love affair with Prince Hamlet.
The Black Hand -- Stephen Talty
Movie Release Date: 2018 Based on the true story of an NYC cop in the early 1900s. In the film, Leonardo DiCaprio (swoon) will play the "Italian Sherlock Holmes" who solves Mob-related crimes in the city. Needless to say, it's a great read.
