The light corn maze is a first for the local farm, a new tradition they hope to continue next year.
A farm in Carroll County has created a new holiday tradition in Maryland. The Local Homestead Products farm in Windsor turned its corn maze into a walkable holiday attraction.
The farm purposely planted corn later in the season in order to produce a corn maze that would still be standing in December. COVID-19 has put a damper on attractions and events for the past two years, and the holiday light trail is a welcome addition to Maryland’s roster of activities.

In addition to the light trail, visitors can shop at the farmers market, ride in a horse carriage and enjoy snacks from the food trucks.
Local Homestead Products is a farm located in Carroll County, about 30 minutes northeast of Frederick. The corn maze is decorated with holiday lights, Christmas character statues, and a variety of holiday decor. The short half-mile adventure is sure to bring out the holiday spirit of even the grumpiest grinch.
Afterward, grab a s’mores pack and roast marshmallows at the fire pits or enjoy other sweets and treats from the food trucks. Horse and carriage rides will also be able on select nights for an additional fee. You can also pick up holiday gifts and greenery at the on-site farmers' market.
The Holiday Light Maze is open December 17-18, from 5 to 9 p.m., and December 22-23, from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 4 to 12, and free for kids 3 and under. Carriage rides are an additional $8 per person and all tickets are sold at the farm.
