New health and safety procedures will be put in place.

Regal Cinemas has recently announced that, like AMC Theatres, it will be reopening its doors to movie-goers in July. In the announcement on Tuesday, Regal shared its plans on opening its theaters starting on July 10, just in time for Russell Crowe's Unhinged to be released, which will be the first new theatrical release since March.

"We are thrilled to be back and encouraged by recent surveys that show that many people have missed going to the movie theater," said CEO Mooky Greidinger in a statement. "Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, Cineworld's main priority remains the health and well-being of both our customers and colleagues."

With the reopening, there will be new health and safety measures at all theaters, all of which are based on guidelines provided by the CDC and other public health organizations. Socially-distant seating, new cleaning procedures, contactless payment options, and more will be instituted upon opening. You can view the full safety measures on the Regal website.

Cinemark has also announced plans to reopen theaters, with some even opening this Friday, June 19. All of its U.S. locations are expected to be open by July 17, according to a release.

"There is nothing quite like the awe and power of great cinematic storytelling on the big screen, and Cinemark is proud to once again welcome guests to enjoy the shared, immersive experience they crave in a way that provides them confidence and peace of mind," said Mark Zoradi, Cinemark CEO.

In order to maintain the health of its guests, Cinemark will implement new cleaning and sanitization methods in the auditoriums, concession areas, restrooms, and any other "high-touch" areas. Check out the full list of safety guidelines on Cinemark's website.
