Monday, August 19

San Francisco 49ers at Denver Broncos NFL Preseason Game

If you’ve been craving some Monday night football, well, you're in luck, Denverites! The San Francisco 49ers are in town to take on our Broncos for an NFL preseason game. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. and there are plenty of tickets still available. Or if you would rather kick back at home with some beers and wings, tune into ESPN to catch the game!

Film on the Rocks: Free Solo

When: August 19, 7 p.m.
Where: Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Price: Tickets starting at $16

Head out to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre to watch the adrenaline-fueled documentary, Free Solo, as part of the Film on the Rocks summer series. The movie follows climber Alex Honnold on his journey to perform a solo climb of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in 2017.

Tuesday, August 20

Cirque du Soleil-Corteo

The acrobatic show is full of theatrics, drama, passion, comedy, and grace. The show tells the tale of a clown as he pictures his own funeral. From the website, ”Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us."

Mid-Month Open Mic Night

When: August 20, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Green Spaces
Price: Free

This night is free and open to the public, and anyone who wants to perform is welcome. They do have some amps and microphones but please bring anything special you may need. This is an opportunity to have your voice heard or to sit back and take in the show of local talent.

Wednesday, August 21

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

The R&B combo group from right here in Denver will play the Red Rocks for two nights this week. With a big local following, this is sure to be a good time for all.  

Dueling Pianos With the Colorado Keys

When: August 21, 6 p.m.
Where: Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox
Price: No cover

This mobile during piano show features two pianos, two piano players, and endless possibilities. The duo of John and Amy have been performing together since 2012, and the show is an all-requests evening of fun and music. They want this to be a party, so the crowd is encouraged to participate and interact with the musicians as the night goes on. The duo can be booked for private and corporate events throughout the state.

 

Thursday, August 22

Longmont Just Between Friends Community Sale

When: August 22-25
Where: Boulder County Fairgrounds
Price: Free

This is a huge children’s consignment event with a ton of stuff to choose from; maternity items, newborn clothes, toys, and other clothes and items for kids of all ages. Prices are low, and there will be a 50 percent off day on August 25. There will be some local vendors on-site as well.

Job Fair of Denver

When: August 22, 10 a.m-1 p.m.
Where: Embassy Suites, Denver Stapleton
Price: Free, pre-registration is recommended

You will have the chance to meet employers and explore various job opportunities. There will be several employers looking for candidates for sales, administration, customer service, marketing retail, finance, hospitality, and so much more. Plan to bring multiple copies of your resume and dress to impress, all job seekers are welcome.

The Wizard's Brunch and Dinner

When: August 22-24, two sessions
