Brown's Island and Historic Tredegar will be the home to a 5K mud run, bike races, live music, and more for the epic three-day festival known as Dominion Riverrock.

Bring the whole family out to for a weekend of adventure at Richmond's incredible celebration of sports and music. Try rock-climbing, crawl through the mud pit, or just go for the food and live music!

Races

The Filthy 5k-ish Mud Run on May 17 will send you through a grueling muddy, rough terrain for a trail run with lots of extras. Get ready to crawl, leap, and climb over stuff along the way. Registration is $40 per person, $45 on race weekend. If your four-legged friend wants to join in, sign up for Dog Wave and bring him along!

The Mountain Bike Time Trial on May 17 pits you against your best time. Take on the clock for a frantic evening ride along the James River and try to hit a personal record. Registration is $40, increasing to $45 on the event weekend.

Think you have what it takes to try the Trail Takedown? This two-day run will wind through over 19 miles through RVA, including the James River Scramble on May 18 and the Bust the Banks Half Marathon on May 19. Registration is $120, increasing to $140 on the event weekend and includes a short-sleeved technical shirt, post-race beverage, and a virtual goodie bag. Everyone will enjoy a free concert at the finish line!

Shows, Demonstrations, and Community Events

Throughout the weekend, you can watch high-flying cyclists, dogs leaping after frisbees, and all of the fun of the mud runs. Don't forget to catch the 5Point Adventure Film Festival on Thursday, May 16 – it's FREE! 

With over 600 individually listed events, there are plenty of ways to participate. Join the community yoga class, try some rock-climbing, or take out a paddle board. This is the perfect time to try something new.

Live Music

Throughout the weekend, there will be FREE concerts of all kinds. Love James Brown or the Allman Brothers? The Big Payback and Skydog are going to be playing all of your favorites. Check out the concert schedule to help plan your visit.

Know Before You Go

  • Food will be available for purchase from some of the best food trucks in Richmond. Don't forget your wallet!
  • Enjoy a free bike valet service at the bottom of Brown's Island Way. You can stash your bike with them on Friday, May 18, from 4-10 p.m., on Saturday, May 19, from 12-10 p.m., and on Sunday, May 20, from 12-5:30 p.m.
