Put your phone down and prepare to be dropped into the future.
Amazon Prime's newest feature-length film is a thrilling foray into the science fiction genre. Whether you're a big Chris Pratt fan or just in it for the escapism, there's something for everyone in The Tomorrow War.
First and foremost, suspend your disbelief. I know, I know, it's hard to do, but also ignore your phone for the duration of the movie. The plot dictates that the audience accepts whatever is thrown at them, and you'll enjoy yourself so much more if you do. After all, are you really the time travel expert that you think you are?
Despite the overall epic feel of the plot, The Tomorrow War is not based on a book. The time jump concept for the movie was developed by its screenwriter, Zach Dean (Deadfall, 24 Hours to Live).
Was just expecting some light Sci-Fi fun with #TomorrowWar but it ended up impressing and surprising me.— Brad Stephenson☕️ (@Shuttlecock) July 2, 2021
Ambitious story that covers a trilogy's worth of plot in a single film.
Really impressive special effects and audio.
A genuinely original and chilling alien design... pic.twitter.com/g67cieKfag
The movie stars powerhouses like Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, and the unexpectedly macho J.K. Simmons. Not to give anything away, but wow ... Simmons has been working out!
This Amazon movie definitely has all of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a major motion picture. The CGI, acting, and booming soundtrack are all on point to create an unforgettable summer blockbuster. The Tomorrow War is currently available to stream only on Amazon Prime and is free for subscribers.
