Forget Facebook and Twitter, there’s a new app on the market that features furry four-legged puppers and kitters who are ready for a playdate.

Created by the Florida-based company Max & Molly LLC, PetSmooch is a mobile app for pet owners who want to share their hobbies, interests, and backgrounds with other animal lovers who have better things to do than argue about politics.

“We like to say that PetSmooch is all the fun of your favorite social media networks, but totally animal-centric,” Kris Rotonda, one of the co-founders and co-CEOs of PetSmooch, said in a press release.

What’s more? PetSmooch isn’t just a social networking platform, it’s a charity, too! (Puppies and charity -- could this app get any better?)

“We have also formed a not-for-profit organization that will be dedicated to safe-dating initiatives, pet-related initiatives, and pet-related charities,” Robert Otillar, PetSmooch’s (other) co-founder and co-CEO, added.

PetSmooch users can create profiles for their pets, share videos and photos, and “like” and share their followers’ posts. (It’s basically Facebook, but with pets.) Smoochers can also connect with breeders and animal shelters, in addition to other animal lovers, right within the app.

To help get the word out, Rotonda started a silly petition on Change.org to send a fuzzy Goldendoodle named Smoochie (hence the name of the app) to the White House.

“Just picture this,” Rotonda writes. “Imagine how the world would change if the president of this great nation were to be greeted every time he walked into the White House by a ball of pure joy, hair, and love? That looks like a pretty awesome future, eh? Imagine a world without wars, leash-less puppies, and endless treats.”

"Leave your mark engraved in history by signing this petition which will help bring a dog to the White House," Rotondra writes. "But not any dog ... we need a special dog for the job. One with the abilities to meet presidential standards. We need the goodest of boys with the waggiest tail and the softest fur. And guess what my friend? We've found it! From the beautiful state of Indiana comes Smoochie! A Goldendoodle [pictured above] that's ready to Make America Great Again."

Can you honestly think of anything better than a social network filled with fluffy balls of fur? I mean, sure. The endless photos of healthy food options, #FitSpo, and the inevitable summertime (hotdog) legs by the pool posts are nice (Is that the word I’m looking for?), but this, this is some top-quality stuff in my opinion.

If you're interested in signing Rotondra's petition, visit Change.org 41 people have signed it so far.

PetSmooch is available for download starting Friday, June 15, in the AppStore and Google Play.

What do you think? It sounds like a pretty cool app, right? (Who wouldn't want to scroll through cute puppies all day?) Plus, it's probably drama-free, which is more than we can say about other social networking sites. Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
