Weatherman calling for snow on your big day? It's "snow" problem!

For all you couples celebrating your nuptials in winter, hopefully, you've taken measures to plan for an uninvited guest: snow.

It's no question that weather in Colorado can only be described as unpredictable, no matter what time of year. I mean, there are weddings in May that get snow up here. If you're a December bride or groom who's worried about flurries, follow these tips that'll ensure a wonderful wedding—snow and winter's chill included.

1. Even If It Might Not Snow, Prepare for It Anyway

Contact your venue's manager and ask about the condition of their heating system, if there is staff for snow removal, as well as de-icing any walkways.

2. Bring Out the Heaters

If there is any part of this wedding that involves the outdoors (photos included), make sure there are portable heating devices that'll ensure added comfort.

3. Take It Slow

It's only natural that wedding-day jitters will have you moving more quickly, but walking and driving in snowy conditions is a disaster waiting to happen. You need to also be forgiving to those who are a bit late if traveling by car or shuttle.

4. Have a Backup Plan for Hair, Makeup, and Photography

If snow hits and your glam squad and photographers can't get to you, prepare ahead of time by practicing your own hair and makeup with the help of YouTube tutorials, or let a talented member of the bridal party or a guest takeover if needed. With smartphones now able to take excellent photos, enlist a few steady-handed individuals to capture your special wedding day moments.

5. Bring Warm Clothing and Accessories

Hats, overcoats, long underwear, gloves, and boots may not be the best look on top of a bridal gown or bridesmaid's dress, but hypothermia never looks good on anyone. Pro tip: a mink wrap or thick pashmina can up the wow-factor of a wedding dress.

6. Treat Your Guests to Wintertime Goodies

Delights like a hot cocoa bar (don't forget the marshmallows!), hot toddies, sugar cookies, and candy canes are surefire ways to make you and your guests forget all about the cold.

7. Take Pictures in the Snow

You have to admit, snowy wedding pictures are actually quite stunning.
