Pandemic or no pandemic, these churches and their followers still found ways to stay connected and spread the gospel.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
Matthew 18:20

We can all admit that COVID-19 was a difficult time for everyone, especially for those who rely on houses of worship as a refuge and connection to a strong community. As a result, we've all had to make do when it comes to taking part in religious services such as Easter, weddings, and regular Sunday worship services. Thankfully, there has been no shortage of creativity in the Christian church when it comes to finding a workaround, such as:

These girls who spread a cheerful Easter message on their driveway ...

This couple who had their wedding ceremony performed through a window...

This, um, unique baptism ...

A drive-thru communion station...

A pop-up altar for Sunday service ...

This Hawaiian church that not only celebrated Easter but was able to distribute food to families in need ...

Our King is Risen! 🎉 As we honor the Mayor’s requests and conditions, we celebrated ⁣⁣⁣Jesus’ Resurrection at our Easter Drive-Thru event! We are grateful for the generosity of Maui Food Bank, local hotels, restaurants, farmers and many others that made it possible for us to bless many families as we gave away groceries and an Easter gift for children. Our community was fed physically as well as spiritually. While people were waiting for groceries, attendees were able to hear a short encouragement from Pastor Jakob and part take in communion. ⁣⁣⁣ We want to thank Maui Food Bank, Maui Police Department, Mayor Victorino, our Children’s Ministry team, our volunteers, and everyone that made this Drive-thru event safe and possible! Happy Easter!!
