A new independent theater opened in Baltimore, and it’s offering movie lovers a personalized cinematic experience.

The Wright family dreamed of sharing their love for cinema with the world, and now they’ve gone from a home theater to opening an independent theater for the entire Baltimore community.

Next Act Cinemas, located at 921 Reisterstown Road in Pikeville, Maryland, opened its doors on March 7 as an “independent boutique theater that offers a unique, personalized movie-going experience.” The luxury theater has 86 all-new leather chairs, creating a very personal environment for any movie fan. At Next Act Cinemas, you can also order food and drinks right from the comfort of your seats so that you never miss any of the action.

The delicious menu includes soups, sandwiches, sliders, quesadillas, crab cake, pizza, salmon, and salads. During your next movie, you definitely need to try their exclusive beer cheddar seasoned popcorn to complete the cinematic experience. The popcorn doesn’t actually have beer in it, so you can even share it with your kiddos.

Not only is Next Act Cinema revolutionizing the world of movies with its dynamite menu and experience, but it’s also making history in Baltimore. The establishment is the first and only black-owned movie theater in the Baltimore area, allowing movie buffs the ability to see diverse and captivating films in a family-friendly and representative environment. The theater prides itself on diversity and welcomes people from all backgrounds, personalities, and walks of life. In fact, their website even encourages people to come to the movies a little early and have a casual drink or snack at their bar and simply socialize with the family.
