Don't try this at home, kids.

Swimmers at the beach in Cape Henlopen State Park Beach in Delaware were treated to quite the show this past weekend. A video (which has since gone viral on social media) shows a man handling a shark in the water, just off the beach.

Though at first glance, viewers of the video thought the man was being careless by catching the shark and prying its jaws open, the truth is actually pretty sweet: The man's friend had caught the shark while fishing, and since it's illegal to keep sand tiger and sandbar sharks, the man entered the water specifically to remove the hook from the shark's mouth and release it back into the ocean.

Park rangers were reportedly onsite and agreed that the way the man handled the situation was completely legal.

Rachael Foster, the woman who filmed and shared the video, said that there were about 20 people watching the successful shark release from the safety of the beach. Thankfully, everything turned out okay for everyone involved—including the shark!

What's the most incredible shark situation you've ever seen go down live? We'd love for you to share your experiences in the comments!
