PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Less wind can be expected across Arizona today, along with slightly warmer temperatures.

Look for morning temperatures in the 60s and 70s warming to 99 degrees in the Valley today, which is just slightly above normal for this time of year in Phoenix. Skies will stay mostly clear and winds light.

As low pressure departs our region and pushes into the Plains, winds will ease up across Arizona. High pressure building in from the west will warm temperatures. In the high country, look for afternoon highs 5 to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday.

As high pressure strengthens, temperatures will continue to climb through Thursday, peaking in the Valley at about 106 degrees. While temperatures look to come down a bit over the holiday weekend, it’s still looking warm and dry, with Valley highs between 99 and 102 degrees.

Winds are expected to pick up again in the high country Friday through Sunday. Southwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected those days with higher gusts possible.
