PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Sunshine and warm weather is expected today across Arizona. Valley temperatures will warm from the 40s and 50s this morning to the upper 70s this afternoon. While winds will be light in the Valley, gusty conditions are once again expected in the Lower Colorado River Valley. Wind gusts could reach 30 mph in that portion of the state. Light winds and warmer temperatures are expected statewide this weekend as high pressure begins to build across our region. Most communities will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year, especially by Sunday. Valley highs are forecast in the upper 70s Saturday and low 80s on Sunday. Normally, we’re in the low 70s in late February. Phoenix has only recorded 90 degrees four times in the month of February, but we’re on track to get back to that mark by the middle of next week. As a stronger ridge builds, Valley highs climb to the low 90s Wednesday and Thursday before likely easing up by the following weekend. Temperatures in the high country will also peak about 20 degrees above normal by the middle of next week. No rain or snow is likely across Arizona for at least the next seven days.
