PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Windy weather changes arrive in Arizona today as a low pressure system moves across our region.

After a couple unseasonably warm days, temperatures will begin to drop today. In the Valley, look for sunny skies and an afternoon high of 84 degrees.

Winds pick up across the state today, with a Wind Advisory in effect for portions of South-Central and Eastern Arizona, including the Superstition Mountains and the Globe and Miami areas. Southwesterly winds today could gust to 45 mph in those spots.

Gusty conditions are expected statewide, with a 65 mph gust already recorded this morning atop the San Francisco Peaks. In the Phoenix area, we’ll see 15 to 25 mph winds that could gust to 35 mph. Blowing dust will be a concern statewide.

Today’s storm system mainly stays to the north of Arizona with any rain or snow. Friday brings a break before another fairly weak storm moves in Saturday. Unsettled weather is forecast for the mountains this weekend with more gusty winds, cooler temperatures and a few light showers. Precipitation amounts are expected to be light Saturday, with snow only above 7,000 feet.

The Valley will see a breezy and cooler Saturday with a high of just 79 degrees. Sunday looks to be just as cool. No rain is expected in the Valley this weekend.

A third storm system is expected to move in next Monday, but moisture looks to be minimal once again. Temperatures are expected to cool to the low 70s by next Tuesday.
