Join us in the giving (and running) spirit!

As summer comes to an end, we can get excited about fall-themed cocktails and the upcoming holidays. Fall is also a huge season for races, particularly races that raise money for charity. These races are a fun way to help a good cause. As the new season approaches, let’s look at some of the fall runs coming up in the Denver area this year.

Mac ‘n Cheese 5K: November 19

Of course, we have to mention the Mac 'n Cheese 5K, put on by Mac ‘N Noodles from Food Truck Ave! Join us in the Denver Metro to help us raise money for Foster Source. This cause is very important to us as it helps give foster parents the confidence and nurturing they need to be great caregivers. Unfortunately, many foster parents quit within the first year. Foster Source works to change that. Show your support for this cause and get your body moving by taking part in our 5K! Did we mention there will be free mac ‘n cheese? There’s even a costume contest! You don’t want to miss this.

The Turkey Trot: Thanksgiving Day (November 24)

A Thanksgiving tradition since 1973, the Turkey Trot takes place in Washington Park. This year marks the 49th anniversary of the run and the 135th anniversary of Mile High United Way, the first United Way in the world. Whether you walk or run the race, it’s sure to be a good time. The race supports Mile High United Way’s community programs, which give wraparound support to families, including meeting basic needs and preparing children for college and the workforce. Embrace the Thanksgiving spirit and participate in The Turkey Trot! Thanksgiving-themed attire is encouraged.

It’s Fall Y’all 5K (& K9 Canter 1 Mile Fun Run): October 2

With this run in Westminster, you have two distances to choose from: The 5K and the 1-mile fun run. The 5K takes place on the Big Dry Creek Trail, which is mostly flat and includes both concrete and gravel trails. If you aren’t looking to run all that much, then the fun run is for you! Dress your dog in a cute costume and tackle the mile together. This race partners with International Hearing Dog, Inc., a charity that works to train dogs to treat those who are deaf or hard of hearing at no cost to the recipient. If you bring donation items to the event, you will be entered into a raffle!

 The bRUNch Run™ 5K + 10K: October 9

Who doesn’t love brunch? With this run/walk in Denver, you will find brunch from some of the best spots in town! The event partners with Metro Caring, an anti-hunger organization that meets people’s immediate food needs. This year’s goal is to raise enough to provide at least 40,000 meals. You can even sign up to participate from home if you can’t make the race, and you’ll receive your own bRUNch Box, so you don’t miss out on the fun.

Fall is a time of running and a time of giving. Celebrate the season by checking out these awesome charity races!
