Time to get your brick on!
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science (DMNS) is hosting an amazing exhibit right now, The Art of the Brick, which features the LEGO creations of artist Nathan Sawaya. So far, over 6 million people around the world have seen the traveling exhibit, which has shown on every continent except Antarctica.
Union Station has teamed up with The Art of the Brick to give the people of Colorado an opportunity to show off their LEGO skills. The contest is a challenge to build the absolute best LEGO replica of Denver’s Union Station that can be built. Anyone can enter, as the contest is open to all ages.
Here are the details on how to enter:
- To enter first build your replica of Union Station out of exclusively LEGO Elements.
- Upload a picture of the finished model to Instagram with the hashtag #BuildTheStation and tag the Union Station Instagram account @DenverUnionStation.
- The deadline to enter is Thursday, November 5, by 11:59 p.m.
- The top 5 selections will be named on Friday, November 6. They will be picked based on creativity, construction technique, and overall aesthetic.
- A People’s Choice winner will be selected through a vote on Instagram. That winner will receive two complimentary tickets to The Art of the Brick exhibit. The winner will be announced on November 16.
- The top five creations will also be shared with Nathan Sawaya, who will pick the Grand Prize Winner. That person will win a prize valued at $400, which includes a two-night stay at The Crawford Hotel, complimentary valet parking, dinner and breakfast for two, and two complimentary tickets to The Art of the Brick exhibition. The winner will be selected on November 13 and notified on November 16, 2020.
- The Grand Prize winner will have their creation installed and displayed in the Museum’s Great Hall through the end of January 2020.
- Entrants must be legal United States residents and physically located in the country at the time of entry.
