Perfluorinated Compounds are known to cause cancer and pregnancy complications.
Last August, we reported on how the groundwater near the Air Force Academy tested positive for the toxic chemicals used in firefighting foam. To make matters worse, it has come to light that there are more affected areas in the Denver-metro area than previously thought.
The latest regions that were found to have contaminated well water include areas near:
- Suncor Oil Refinery
- Buckley Air Force Base
- Sand Creek Corridor
- Vicinities west of the Boulder Mountain Fire Station near the Pine Brooks Hills neighborhood
It has been reported that over 100,000 Coloradans are drinking from private well systems that contain devastating levels of hazardous Perfluorinated Compounds. If you use well water that shows the presence of these chemicals, it’s highly encouraged that you switch to bottled water or municipal water supply immediately.
Colorado’s own McDivitt Law Firm is currently building a case against those deemed responsible for putting the public’s safety at risk. If you’re concerned that you may be affected by these chemicals, contact them immediately as you may be entitled to compensation.
