Bring the comfort of home with you on your RV staycation.
It's springtime—and summer isn't too far behind either! If you're itching to get outside and do some traveling, but you also don't want to stray too far from home, fear not. We've got you covered! The following four unique and RV-friendly locations in Colorado will seriously take your breath away. Whether you're cruising in a luxury Class A RV or a simple Class B RV, you definitely need to pay a visit to one of these incredible spots.
(And before you start your RV staycation, make sure you've checked off everything on your spring pre-trip checklist.)
With that being said, it's time to hit the road, RVers!
The Great Sand Dunes National Park
One of my personal favorites, the Great Sand Dunes National Park is unlike any place you've ever seen. The combinations of sand dunes, mountain ranges, and waterfalls are out of this world—but don't worry, your RV will easily get you there. Located about four hours south of Denver, there's ample camping ground space for your RV and plenty of hiking opportunities.
Colorado's UFO Watchtower
Okay, here us out ... Whether or not you believe in aliens and UFOs is totally irrelevant, 'cause this one-of-a-kind place makes for the perfect RV staycation—and it's more "out of this world" than the previous spot on our list! Here's why you should visit: ample room for your rig, uninterrupted stargazing, and the chance to meet some really interesting people (or aliens—you never know!). Nothing better than that, right? The UFO Watchtower area spans across 600 acres of land and includes a saucer-shaped gift shop, plus an alien-viewing platform.
Rifle Falls State Park
Go on an RV staycation to Rifle Falls State Park—you won't regret it! Trust us. You'll have an abundance to view and see, all just a stone's throw away from your camping site, including hikes, fishing, and so much more. The lush, green landscapes are so picturesque and you'll find yourself completely transported, even though you're only about three and a half hours away from Denver.
The Garden of the Gods
The Garden of the Gods' 300-foot-tall sandstone formations are unlike any other in the entire state. If you go on an RV staycation here, not only are you just a few hours south of Denver, but you'll be rewarded with gorgeous views of Pikes Peak and access to hiking trails. Did we mention that the park is totally free, too? (RV camping does require booking ahead of time, though.)
