Last year, the New York Giants drafted Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick. They re-signed Darius Slayton on a three-year, $36 million deal. Wan'Dale Robinson has been the team's primary slot receiver, and his receiving numbers have trended up over three years.

Meanwhile, the Giants have a major question mark at cornerback. They signed Paulson Adebo to a three-year, $54 million contract in free agency, and he's their best cornerback.

Deonte Banks, a 2023 first-rounder, has been inconsistent through his first two seasons. He allowed six touchdowns and a 124.6 passer rating in coverage last season. The coaching staff should give him another year to play up to lofty expectations, but Hunter has the potential to become a lockdown cornerback on the pro level.

Bleacher Report scout Cory Giddings broke down what makes Hunter special in the secondary.

"Travis Hunter projects as a top-10 pick in the NFL draft with the potential to become an elite cornerback at the next level. His combination of length, athleticism, and football intelligence makes him a valuable asset in both man and zone coverage schemes…With proper development, Hunter has the tools to become a perennial Pro Bowler and one of the top cornerbacks in the league."
