When those winter blues come knocking, it can feel like there's not much to do. Of course, there's skiing and snowboarding, but not every Coloradan enjoys the slopes.

We have compiled a list of fun indoor activities and events suitable for the entire family to enjoy during the winter season in Colorado. Not only will we include in-house activities, but we've also included indoor activities that get you out of the house—including museums and more!

Family-Friendly Indoor Winter Activities in Colorado:

Enter a New World at Meow Wolf - Denver

Meow Wolf is a unique experience for the whole family! Denver is one of three Meow Wolf locations across the country. The Denver Meow Wolf is an interpretive art exhibit that enlightens the imagination of all ages. Denver's location has four stories with dozens of art forms to admire. Every Coloradan should experience Meow Wolf at least once in their life. Don't forget to check out free-admission days to other Denver museums and attractions!

Improve Your Aim at Axe Throwing

It goes without being said, but this is definitely for the older kids. If you've got a teenager or two, you can make some memories by going to one of the many axe-throwing bars throughout Colorado. Make some cool memories of hucking axes with your family!

Jump for Joy at Sky Zone

Don't have a big lunch before this one! Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline park that features over a dozen different activities, from dodgeball to slam dunks and everything else in between. The kids will love it, and adults will too! Find a Sky Zone near you.

Watch a Colorado Avalanche or Denver Nuggets Game at Ball Arena

Winter may be cold, but the Avs and Nuggets play inside. Ball Arena is a fantastic environment, that serves as home to two of the hottest teams in the NHL and NBA respectively. Go enjoy some world-class talent at Ball Arena, especially as Playoff implications become more and more important with each game. This is definitely the crowd to be a part of! There are also so many concerts and shows being held at Ball Arena this year!

Stay Cozy Inside With Arts and Crafts

There's nothing quite like a good ol' arts and crafts day. There are many ways to be creative, and they benefit people of all ages. Whether it's with LEGO or painting, you can find the artist in the family. There's always one!

Enjoy a Round of Board Games

This is where the fun begins! Settle some competitive family rivalries with a board game night. There are plenty of board games to pick from, including Monopoly and Candyland. Oh, and The Game of Life is also an easier game that still contains depth, for our younger family members. Looking for something simple yet rowdy? Sorry is the sweet game of revenge! With so many different board games out there, there's bound to be something for every family.

Have a Nerf Battle

If the kids have a lot of energy, a good old-fashioned Nerf battle can fix that. Nothing makes a child happier than playing with some Nerf blasters, as they chase each other around. They also have some dueling swords available for close quarters. Last but not least, you need some darts!
