Cultural festivals, crafts, and lots of Oktoberfest beer could be all yours this weekend!

As September comes to a close, the DMV is slowly but surely amping up its fall activities. Oktoberfest celebrations, craft fairs, and more cozy gatherings are underway this weekend, so grab your pen and mark that calendar!

Das Best Oktoberfest | M&T Bank Stadium Lots | Baltimore, MD | Saturday

The oldest beer festival is back here in Baltimore! Sample a tantalizing array of craft beverages and pair them with traditional German cuisine and other fair favorites. Cats | Kennedy Center | Ongoing

Who doesn't love Cats? The iconic Broadway musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber is coming to the Kennedy Center! With its spellbinding costumes and music, they'll leave you saying "meow!" It only runs through October 6, so you'll want to pounce on tickets! Tickets start at $49. Buy them here!

Wine Fest | Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot | Ocean City, MD | Friday–Saturday

You got us at "wine." Also known as "Wine on the Beach," this annual event is a must-see this fall! Sample locally-made beers and wines while enjoying live entertainment, delicious cuisine, craft booths, and more. General admission is $35. Find out more here!

2019 European Festival | Winchester Medical Center | 1775 N. Sector Court | Winchester, VA | Saturday

Experience the distinct cultures of Italy, Germany, Greece, and the British Isles all in one festival! Twist and Stout Festival | Quiet Waters Park | 600 Quiet Waters Park Road | Annapolis, MD | Saturday

Time to do the twist! From 11 to 5, relax in Quiet Waters Park with unlimited beer and wine samples, and watch performances from local musicians and artists. Food will be available to purchase from tasty local restaurants. The event will also support the Quiet Waters Park Nature Center Campaign. General admission is $30 advance and $40 at the door. Turkish Festival | Pennsylvania Avenue, 12th and 14th Streets NW | Washington, D.C. | Sunday

September is Turkish Heritage Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a festival? With free admission, guests can access an amazing spread of Turkish culture—from cuisine and crafts to live folk music. Try Turkish coffee or get your fortune told! Occoquan Arts & Crafts Show | Downtown Historic Occoquan | 200 Mill Street | Occoquan, VA | Saturday–Sunday 

Now on 50 years, the popular craft showcase is back in Downtown Historic Occoquan. Come and explore the finest artisanal goods, yummy local food, and live entertainment. Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival | Annapolis City Dock | 1 Dock Street | Annapolis, MD | Saturday

Named after the subject of Roots, this festival showcases the pulse and vibrancy of African culture! Ta-Nehisi Coates—The Water Dancer Book Tour | Lincoln Theatre | Washington, D.C. | Friday

Author of the groundbreaking work Between the World and Me, Ta-Nehisi Coates will discuss his debut novel The Water Dancer at Lincoln Theatre. Ibram X. Raise your glass for another year of the Crystal City Oktoberfest! Guests can get merry with delicious German food, entertainment, and of course lots of beer!
